As promised, HBO officially announced just when in April Game of Thrones could expect the eighth and final season of the epic fantasy series to premiere. (Thankfully, you won’t have to wait the entire month.) But what could have been just a tweet was instead a stylish and eerie trailer, the first extended look at the new season.

Having Jon Snow and Sansa and Arya Stark walk through the crypts of Winterfell makes for a more thematic teaser than straight footage, but it both calls back to Ned and Catelyn Stark (RIP), while forcing the three surviving children to confront their own mortality in the coming conflict.
